Your Business Advocate
The Chamber believes in effective grassroots advocacy, powerful partnerships, and well-informed and politically engaged communities. The Chamber is the business community’s voice in the halls of government for policies and laws that promote business enterprise and a strong economy.
While members certainly benefit the more they get involved in the Chamber’s many offerings, the Chamber’s staff and committees are continuously working behind the scenes to provide a return on investment to its members through its advocacy.
You can focus on your business, knowing your Chamber is keeping a pulse on the issues that affect you, and determining what we can do to help our business community thrive.
Read on to hear how the Chamber is helping small businesses have a bigger voice in the halls of government:
Governmental Affairs Advocacy (Government Affairs and Transportation Forum – GATF)
Implementation of a committee to protect, strengthen and effectively represent the community’s small businesses within the government’s legislative and rule-making processes; oversight of legislation and administrative regulations affecting the business community. We hold Legislative and Candidate Forums – see calendar for dates.
Engagement of Elected Leaders
Creating opportunities for business leaders and young professionals to discuss important issues with local and state elected officials.
Representation at City and County Commission Meetings
Presence at meetings of importance through Chamber’s senior staff and volunteer board of directors on behalf of the business community. For representation of business retention, expansion and attraction opportunities, contact the Economic Development Council of West County.
